Brad joined Matter as a partner in early 2012. Though he transitioned to serve as Chief Investment Officer for a single family in St. Louis in 2015, Brad continues to lead the advisory and portfolio management relationship for a number of families at Matter. He is also a member of Matter’s investment committee.
Before his time at Matter, Brad served as director of family office investments at the Commerce Trust Company, where he managed in excess of $1.4 billion of client assets. Earlier in his career, he helped establish the Trust Company at TIAA, managing endowment and planned giving assets, and leading the investment division of its personal wealth management segment.
Brad brings his professionalism and leadership to the St. Louis community through service. He feels fortunate to sit on the investment committee of Forest Park Forever, a nonprofit conservancy that protects and preserves this city gem, which is one of his favorite running spots. Brad also serves on the board of The Friends of KWMU, the local public radio station, and is a former board chair of the Animal Protective Association of Missouri and The Center for Hearing and Speech.
Brad loves getting outside in and around St. Louis. When he’s not heading out for a romp with Roman the dog (his go-to activity), he enjoys exploring the roads less travelled on his gravel bike. In his downtime, you’ll likely find Brad with his nose in an old Ross Macdonald mystery novel.
