Diane Milburn
Manager of Family EducationDrawing on more than 25 years of experience as an educator, Diane joined Matter in 2008 to develop financial education programs for our client families. She received a BS in education from the University of Missouri and an MA in education from Maryville University, and her teaching background ranges from kindergarten to high school. Diane created Matter’s nationally recognized “Money Camps” and helps foster our firm-wide focus on lifelong learning.
Never one to sit still for long, Diane is an active member of the St. Louis community. She volunteers with The Little Bit Foundation, a nonprofit that works to build a stronger St. Louis through education with a particular focus on underserved youth. She helps orchestrate Hope in a Handbag, the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition’s primary fundraising event, which supports efforts to find loving, permanent families for children in need. She’s also a participating member of her Delta Gamma sorority and rarely declines an invitation to help an organization that’s doing good work.
When she’s not working with Matter families or serving her community, Diane loves to dance, antique, play golf, and travel—Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, and India are particular highlights. She also enjoys checking things off her bucket list: She’s gone deer hunting in Minnesota, attended a red carpet event in L.A., taken a driving trip in Ireland, and attended car shows in Pebble Beach. Her Shi-poo, Walter, is the light of her life and has challenged Diane to extend her teaching skills into the canine world. Walter can now do 21 tricks and counting.
