Joe Schwegel
Senior AnalystJoe joined our St. Louis office in 2021. A graduate of the University of Iowa, he has a BBA in finance and brings experience gained from internships at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, where he still volunteers, and an organic food-delivery startup. His keen interest in financial education – and in helping families learn about philanthropic planning, communication around wealth, and legacy development – make him a great fit for Matter.
Joe is passionate about ensuring that all people have access to education, both academic and financial. He has volunteered in early education classrooms, teaching reading and english, and believes supporting children in their learning and growth is an important investment in the future. He is also the Vice President of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition’s Young Professional’s Board.
When he’s not at work, Joe enjoys spending time with his large (and loud) family. An avid foodie, with limited cooking experience, he’s always up for trying new restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops, which he counterbalances by running and swimming. A firm believer that to feel your best you need to look your best, Joe can also be found running with his dog in Forest park.
