Jena Ivy
Senior AnalystJena brings a strong background in gift and estate taxation to Matter. A CPA who has worked as both a tax accountant and a family office analyst, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Honors Program, and a Master in Professional Accounting degree, with a focus in taxation, from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.
Jena’s experience as a tutor in college allowed her to explain finance in a way that showed students how interesting it is. That’s the same approach she takes with her clients at Matter. She enjoys using complex systems to solve problems and to help and serve others, especially to remove the stress from money management and make people intrigued, rather than intimidated, by it. She likes to stay current on the latest changes to tax law as it pertains to charitable planning and her professional interests also include estate planning and investment management.
A lover of the outdoors, Jena is often joined on runs and hikes by her husband and their miniature Aussie, Dasher. She also volunteers at a local nursing home, which allows her to learn from the residents, something she finds extremely rewarding. To unwind, she enjoys sketching and painting, as well as mastering her grandmother’s Lebanese recipes.
