Jerrel Armstrong, MBA
As Matter’s CIO, Jerrel is responsible for setting and overseeing the firm’s investment strategy, asset allocation, and portfolio construction across all client relationships. Blending long-term strategic thinking with day-to-day implementation, he particularly enjoys the opportunity to align each Matter client’s investment decisions with their goals, values, and risk profiles.
Before joining IWP (where he also served as CIO) in 2021, Jerrel spent nearly three decades working in debt and equity capital markets. His global perspective has been shaped by thirteen years working as an analyst in Asian capital markets across various industries—spending six of those years living in Asia. He has also served on several nonprofit boards.
Jerrel graduated from Colorado College with a BA in world political economy and has an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Management. He is the proud father of three daughters and lives with his wife in Denver, Colorado, where he grew up. When he’s not advising Matter clients on their investment portfolios, he enjoys playing golf, kite surfing, and fly fishing.
